MCI has not received any application from Odisha where participation of Public Sector Undertaking and Private players has been sought for setting up of medical college.
To facilitate setting up of more medical colleges and to increase the intake capacity in various medical colleges, the Central Government has amended the respective regulations in terms of teacher-students ratio, land requirement, bed strength, bed occupancy, maximum admission capacity, increase in age of teaching faculty and allowing establishment of government medical colleges by utilizing the facilities of the hospitals owned and managed by respective State Governments.
