Cable TV Networks (Regulation) Act - State level Monitoring Committees
Cable TV Networks (Regulation) Act - State level Monitoring Committees and District level Monitoring Committees to monitor the programmes of all private satellite/cable television channels including the regional language channels.
“The provisions of the Cable TV Networks (Regulation) Act, 1995 and Rules framed thereunder, is applicable to all private satellite/cable television channels including the regional language channels. In addition the Government have set up State level and District level monitoring Committees around the Country for monitoring content telecast in private satellite/Cable Television channels. So far, 21 State level Monitoring Committees including Union Territories and 274 District level Monitoring Committees have been set up across the country, the list is placed in Annexure. The existing provisions of content regulation are considered adequate, at present”.
